Vlad Selivanov

I’ve been working as a counselor since 2017. Over the years, I’ve worked and volunteered in NGOs, schools, psychological services, and therapy centers—and I continue this work today.

At university, I explored how people construct their futures and how queer individuals navigate the coming out process. Science and ethics play a central role in both my life and professional practice. They guide my work and set its boundaries. I rely on methods and techniques that have at least some scientific grounding. At the same time, I have no objection to clients seeking help from professionals in non-scientific fields—as long as it’s not harmful.

In addition to private practice, I teach counseling at the online school Psychodemia, where my colleagues and I also research psychotherapy effectiveness. I also work in the clinical department at Alter, a platform that matches clients with therapists, where I help improve therapy quality.

I’ve been in personal therapy for over 8 years and regularly attend supervision and advanced training courses. I’m a member of professional associations including the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), the Russian-speaking Contextual Behavioral Science Association, and the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST, No. 85727311).

Schema Therapy helps to understand and transform deep emotional patterns that influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) focuses on finding and creating solutions, rather than analyzing the past and the causes of problems.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages facing difficult experiences, developing psychological flexibility, and acting according to personal values.

I work remotely. LGBTQ+, fem-, poly- friendly.
